Xplode Magazine is a registered charity that gives young people a voice and the chance to gain and develop skills needed for employment. Xplode’s registered charity number is 1155789.

So why is the word Magazine in our name?

In September 2011, a group of friends got together to help combat negative stereotypes of young people. At the time, 57% of press coverage was negative and they thought they could change this – locally, at least. Young People are brimming with enthusiasm, drive and talent. Why make them invisible?

They thought they could be part of the press themselves and then, Xplode was born! Xplode Magazine is a free, quarterly magazine created by 25 of Bolton’s young people, aged between 12 & 19. There are over 5,000 copies distributed across Bolton & Bury.
