This first edition of the Collins FLTRP New Century English-Chinese Dictionary celebrates a successful collaboration between the two well-known publishing houses of Collins and the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press and continues a tradition of excellence in lexicography. Collins and FLTRP have mobilized their enormous documentary, lexicographical and textual resources to present you with this in-depth analysis of the latest developments in the English and Chinese languages.
The Collins FLTRP New Century English-Chinese Dictionary draws on Collins’ 4.5 billion-word computerized database of English, the Collins Corpus. The material in the corpus comes from a large variety of different sources, including books, magazines, newspapers, websites and spoken language. It also covers a wide range of subjects, including science, sport, business and technology. This corpus thus represents language that is relevant, up-to-date and authentic, providing a true reflection of current English as it is used around the world.
In the accompanied app, high-quality real voice audio for all the head-words can be quickly captured online via smart phone’s camera or downloaded to access offline. Over 3,000 color illustrations and sound effects are also provided.
