Ubisoft is releasing the Griffin Bane Expansion for Might & Magic Duel of Champions. The expansion comes with 100 new cards, six new heroes, and updated gameplay mechanics. Griffin Bane is designed to allow players to acquire cards more quickly from the six different factions: players only have to win one game against a faction to earn an achievement and unlock the faction's deck.
Griffin Bane is also removing the pre-made decks of each faction from the shop. Players will instead win decks from completing game achievements. Samuel Jobin, Producer of Might & Magic Duel of Champions, said “We are giving new players access to more decks earlier in the game so they can understand how to play the different factions the game offers. It definitely strengthens our game as one of the highest quality free-to-play online card games.”

Want to earn points by flailing around in front of your friends but don’t have one of those fancy new home consoles or their video peripherals? Well you’re in luck! Ubisoft has announced Just Dance Now for the iPhone.
Just Dance Now uses the accelerometer to track your movements and judge the accuracy of your ability (or lack thereof) to dance. No big screen TV or AAA console required. You will need an internet connection, however. You’ll also need access to a web browser on a nearby computer. But once you get all of that set up you simply have to log in to the “room” created in the web browser and get your various grooves on. In fact, there’s no player limit. Provided there are enough devices and there’s enough bandwidth to go around, you could have games with dozens, hundreds, maybe even thousands of other players. It’s been designed to go easy on your bandwidth, too. Only a tiny bit of data is required to play, so even if you’re without wifi you can still join in on the fun and not break the bank.
Just Dance Now will be available on the App Store “soon” for free.

Ubisoft has released the first major update for Rayman Fiesta Run, adding new levels, gadgets, characters, and a new mode to the game.
The new levels are contained within the Candy World, which features new invaded levels and a tough new boss to face off against. In addition to this, two new gadgets have been added to the game - one allows players to respawn after death, whilst the other draws lums to them. Meanwhile, the new Nightmare Mode is set to challenge even the most skilled of players, as perfect runs of 36 invaded levels will need to be completed, otherwise players will be sent back to the beginning to try again.
Rayman Fiesta Run is available on the App Store now for $2.99.
Assassin's Creed Pirates, normally $4.99, is currently on sale for a steal of a price: $0.99. Why is it on sale? Ubisoft's calling it a "This may be awesome" sale, which is a rather random reason to have a sale. Hey, the game got a 4 star rating from usand has a 6.9 on QualityIndex, so you might just agree.
Ubisoft has announced ANNO: Build an Empire, the first mobile entry for the city-building strategy series. The controls have been built from the ground up in order to make building cities compatible for the iPad, and like its predecessors the game will require strategic planning that will force players to weigh the pros and cons of their city planning.
Players will start off with one island, building it up to ensure that its citizens are both happy and healthy. Once skilled enough, they will be able to use their city-planning abilities on additional islands and manage trade routes with nearby neighboring islands. Social elements from previous games in the series will also be brought in, giving players the chance to challenge friends and foes alike.
ANNO: Build an Empire will be compatible with iPad 2 and higher and will require at least iOS6 and a connection to the Internet in order to play when it releases.
Ubisoft (courtesy of RedLynx) has announced a new game, Trials Frontier, which is geared towards bikes and time trials.
With a markedly dystopian background and graphics, the game looks to bring tricks and racing together with arcade elements like unique characters, attributes, and equipment upgrades. The game stems from RedLynx's Trials series, and is the first one to officially hit mobile.
Players will be able to gain access to bonus material by connecting to Trials Fusion, which is an upcoming console and PC title. Friends can be challenged, and there are social elements and leaderboards.
Trials Frontier is going to be free-to-play, and will be available on April 10.
Ubisoft has updated its iOS high seas adventure game, Assassin's Creed Pirates, with some major additions. This refresh brings new maps, as well as one new campaign mission and three new secondary missions among other features.
There are also new ships that are available for the all-new Survival Missions. According to the Ubisoft release, each game map will feature its very own Survival Mission in which players can fish and hunt for food. And as an added plus, there are also historical ships to battle against.
The update is free to current owners of Assassin's Creed Pirates, which is available on the App Store for $4.99.
Assassin's Creed Pirates receives its first update that offers players new missions, achievements, and areas to explore. The new map (Nassau) is said to be the most difficult, and the update also adds an increased difficulty to the overall as well as and new defense, dodge, and counterattack capabilities. In addition to the new campaign mission, players can also journey through 10 new side quests.
Galaxy Life: Pocket Adventures is ready for the holidays with a brand new event where players challenge Sparagon and his crew of space pirates to recover their Christmas presents. Once players clear all the levels, they'll be able to get their presents back. The update to the massively multiplayer online strategy game is now available for users to play.
For years, Ubisoft and RedLynx have taunted mobile gamers with physics-based racers that have been sorta similar to the acclaimed Trials series on console and PC, but not quite the same. But now there’s a mobile Trials game in Trials Frontier. Designed as a free-to-play game, it's currently undergoing a soft launch in Canada. So I strapped on my helmet, revved up my motorbike’s engine, and prepared to defy death for this edition of It Came From Canada!
Trials Frontier does not dawdle. Tired of games that keep away from the action for too long? So is this game. Trials Frontier gets players going right from the initial launch, eschewing even a title screen, as it sends players through a few levels and introduces the story’s antagonist, Butch, that players (as the anonymous Rider) must race against because Butch is a huge jerk. Like, he almost kills the Rider in a rock cave-in. That’s good enough motivation to help the people of the dusty village, as they too have been terrorized by Butch. Help them by riding a motorbike through various levels, completing different objectives like performing a certain number of backflips to impress a fan, and earn rewards to upgrade and buy new bikes.
Yes, there is a two-tiered currency here: coins earned for doing well and performing stunts, which can be used to buy bikes, and gems, which can be bought or earned and are used to skip upgrade wait timers and buy certain upgrade items without getting them as a reward for completing levels. Discovery of new levels is mission-based, though any level can be repeated at any point.
There is an energy mechanic, but it largely regulates the initial playing of levels, not restarting them while in the level. So yes, restart to your heart’s content, even complete a level. On the final screen where it shows the postcard with the final time and crashes, just hit the restart button again. This isn’t necessarily a way to grind for coins while cheating the energy system, but it is a way to repeat levels to get better times and better medals without having to use energy, necessarily. It’s easy to be critical of energy systems, but this seems to be an implementation that doesn’t get too much in the way of actually playing the game. As well, gems can be earned through in-game actions and as end of race rewards, so a relative free-to-play fairness, without impeding the core game too much, seems to be the order of the day here.
With this game soft-launching so close to Christmas, I almost wonder if this is an emergency test of the monetization just to make sure that everything is hunky-dory before a likely launch before the holiday iTunes freeze. So for non-Canadians and non-“Canadians”, this one might be in the hands of the general public sooner than later.
Might & Magic: Duel of Champions' new update allows players to use any card they own in every deck they create. It also receives a new expansion called Five Towers that adds 80 new cards, a new card type, and buildings. Buildings are used on the battleground to provide creatures with new abilities.
“Our community has been requesting the ability to add a card in multiple decks and we’re happy to say that with this next update coming in just two days’ time, this will now be possible. As with physical card games, where players can swap their cards from one deck to another, Duel of Champions players can now use the same cards in every deck they create. We expect this feature to be helpful in the use of epic and neutral cards and it will reduce the amount of cards players have to keep in their collection,” said Samuel Jobin, live producer of the game, in a press release.
