We’ve reached that time of the year where every man, woman, and corporate entity decides on their favorite games of the previous twelve months. Apple is no exception to this, and this week they named Threes from Sirvo LLC as their iPhone game of the year. To celebrate this honor, the developer has announced that the game is now on sale, with the price having had a very appropriate 33.3 recurring % sliced off.
In other words, Threes is available now for $1.99, down from its usual price of $2.99.

Hoplite is one of those games that’s as easy to understand as it is to enjoy. It’s also one of those games that’s about as easy to play well as it is to eat your bodyweight in marbles. But that’s why we enjoyed it so much in the first place.
Well, for an extremely limited time – today only, in fact – you can get your hands on this hexagonal roguelike for absolutely free. There’s absolutely no reason for you not to do so, seeing as the game is both excellent and doesn’t really take up a lot of storage space. Plus there’s the whole ‘being excellent’ thing. I’ve already covered that, right?
So get your posterior onto the App Store and download Hoplite now, while it’s still free.

This year, Leo’s Fortune, by 1337 & Senri, was named App Store Best of 2014 and the 2014 WWDC Apple Design Award winner, as well as being nominated for game of the year by the App Store. That’s a lot to be proud of.
In celebration of their achievement, 1337 & Senri are offering Leo’s Fortune for 40% off for a limited time. Help Leo recover his stolen treasure in this gorgeously animated (and controlled) physics puzzler.
Nothing says “Holiday Season” like an Advent Calendar, right? Well the folks at Pocket Gamer, in collaboration with a lot of very generous and generally awesome developers, have set up a special one just for you, the iOS gaming enthusiast.
Starting next Monday, 12/8, they’ll be giving away one top-rated premium game for $0, for 24 hours. After that a new game will go free for anther 24 hours, and so on. And it will continue right up through 12/19. That’s ten days of freebies!
All you have to do is check this list each day between 12-8 and 12-19 to get those free games. Simple, right?
SEGA is offering Crazy Taxi for 80% off the normal price until December 11. The sale is enough to make you drive like a madman through the streets.
Just like the old classic from the Dreamcast, Crazy Taxi for iOS, has you racing to pick up fares, shouting at slow buses, and jumping off the highest hills to show off your cabbie skills. The game offers 3, 5, or 10 minute runs in Arcade Mode and Original Mode, and features an awesome soundtrack by Bad Religion and The Offspring.
You should pick up Crazy Taxi for $0.99 on the App Store before SEGA realizes just how crazy their sale is.

In God of Light, by Playmous, you become a glowing ball of light named Shiny who lives in a darkening universe. And for a limited time you’ll be able to download it for free.
You must conquer a variety of physics based puzzles to manipulate light and save the universe. The game has a pretty graphics and a moody soundtrack created by the band UNKLE. We thought it was pretty fun, actually. You might want to check it out while you have the chance to download it without having to pay.
We don’t know exactly when God of Light will stop being free, but for the time being that’s how much you’ll find it going for on the App Store.
[Editor’s Note: We’ve just learned that the all-inclusive and free updated version Sleeping Prince won’t be releasing until late this evening/early tomorrow. So it’s not available just yet, but will be soon. Terribly sorry if we’ve caused any confusion. – Rob]
Signal Mobile’s goofy sleepwalking simulator (note: not really a simulator), The Sleeping Price, has had a significant price drop. Now you can download the game for free. For a while.
The sale will be going on through the month of December, and will jump back up to a premium price in January. This is definitely a sale, though. It’s not a “lite” version or anything of the sort. There’s unlimited magic, no in-app purchases, and no ads. It’s just free. For, like, a month.
It’s not a permanent price drop though, so if you want to grab The Sleeping Prince before you’ll have to pay for it you should probably act now. Lest you forget and end up kicking yourself once the calendar ticks over to 2015.

It’s almost turkey time! Which means lots and lots of food but also lots and lots of sales. Some sales have even started a few days early, which is why we’ve put together a list of iOS games that are currently discounted (sometimes by a lot).
Chances are this list is only going to get bigger as we approach the weekend, so check back in with us from time to time to see what else you can nab for a reduced price.
[Updated 11/26]: Even more games have been discounted and it’s still not even Thursday yet! A lot of fairly well known titles have joined the list this time, including games like Surgeon Simulator, Republique, and Thomas Was Alone.
[Updated 11/27]: Goodness but there are a lot more sales happening right now! Just under 40 games have been added to the list this time, with big names like Banner Saga, Table Tennis Touch, King Oddball, a whole bunch of Fighting Fantasy Gamebooks, and a whole lot more.
[Updated 11/28]: If you thought all the sales were done, you were mistaken. Even more price drops have gone into effect since yesterday, for big titles like Joe Denver’s Lone Wolf, Knightmare Tower, Talisman, and Kingdom Rush. But that’s not all. We’ve also updated the list to include apps! You can click the link below to jump to the Apps page.
[Updated 11/30]: Yep, we’re still going. The list is still growing, and will most likely continue through Monday. Currently we’re looking at a number of board game additions like Eclipse and Kahuna, as well as plenty of non-board games like Warhammer Quest and The Firm.
[Updated 12/1]: Happy Cyber Monday! A few titles have returned to regular price over the weekend, but several are still discounted and we’ve got plenty more to add to the list. And Little Inferno and Infinity Blade II are just the beginning.

Currently on sale for the grand price of nothing is third-person shooter, EPOCH.2.
The game has you trekking across a post-apocalyptic landscape as you battle robot against robot. Using an intuitive finger swiping control method you’ll be able to select targets, dodge incoming fire, make split-second tactical decisions, take cover, and launch various special abilities. Wave upon wave of enemy robots are against you in arena-style combat, so it should be a pretty frantic but satisfying affair.
EPOCH.2 is on sale in honor of it being Apple’s pick for App of the Week this week, so expect it to be a pretty limited offer.
When the game launched back in 2011 it cost $8.99 and required a subscription to play, but since then the subscription model has been killed off and now the cost to get the game at all has been removed as well.
Alongside this announcement, the game has received yet another update that adds a new PvP Battlefield with 2v2 and 4v4 capture the flag and challenge modes. PvP leagues are also new to the game, allowing players to join leagues and battle to top both their league and compete against other leagues. New events have been added as well to celebrate the 3rd anniversary of the game launching: Haradon Day and the annual Magpie Festival
