Dance Music Radio Show App Courtesy Of Radio Volum

Posted by Jennifer Allen on October 11th, 2011
+ Universal App - Designed for iPhone and iPad

It's refreshing to see increasing numbers of radio stations offer their own official apps so that iOS users can easily listen to music stations wherever they are. The latest to implement such an app is that of Radio Volum, a Norwegian based radio station that focuses on EDM (Electronic Dance Music). Broadcasting live 24/7, it offers the best in Trance, House, Dance and Progressive music.

The freely available universal app allows users to tune in live, read the latest news from the official website, track the station's Twitter feeds and Facebook page, listen to exclusive Mixtapes and watch the latest YouTube videos too.

Multitasking support is available so that users can carry on with other tasks on their iOS devices while listening to the latest dance music.

Radio Volum should provide exactly what dance fans could want from a music app. It's available now and it's free.

This action puzzler takes players through dozens of haunted train rides with a scared little blob of green dessert. As bizarre as it sounds, the game is super fun to play.

Hulu Plus Makes Official iOS Debut

Posted by Brad Hilderbrand on November 18th, 2010
+ Universal App - Designed for iPhone and iPad

Those who love watching TV on the go will be pleased to hear that Hulu Plus is now available on iOS devices. The preview phase is over and the service will now be available to all iPhone and iPad users for $7.99 a month. Those who have been paying the higher rate during the preview need not worry, as your subscription will be adjusted in the next billing cycle and you'll be given a $2 credit for every month you've been a member of the preview program.

While Hulu has always been a great resource for watching current seasons of to television shows, Hulu Plus takes things to the next level by offering the full catalog of hundreds of shows to watch whenever you want. Sure, you can keep up with House or Modern Family, but you can also go back into the vault and watch the full run of 21 Jump Street or The A Team. The service already supports over 200 shows from CBS, NBC, ABC and Fox, and the lineup continues to grow at a staggering rate.

Considering the fact that the holidays are fast approaching this app seems like the ideal gift for the constantly moving business traveler or friends who insist on living off the grid and not subscribing to cable. Unfortunately, Hulu Plus doesn't yet have deals in place with networks like TBS or AMC, so while you can get current episodes or clips of shows like Mad Men or The Walking Dead, most of the content is still off-limits.

Disregarding this rather small hang-up, there's still plenty to love about Hulu Plus making its iOS debut. If you love having your entertainment on the go then this is an absolutely must-own app.

Cool Igloo Offers Organization when House Hunting

Posted by Brad Hilderbrand on November 16th, 2010
iPhone App - Designed for iPhone, compatible with iPad

There are few things in life more stressful than trying to pick out a new house or apartment. All the appointments, showings and prices are enough to make your head spin with information overload, and keeping it all straight can be a major pain. Thankfully the new Cool Igloo app can help you keep things straight, no matter how hectic the hunting becomes.

Cool Igloo allows users to input their ideal attributes for a home including price, square footage and noise level, and then weight each of the factors to contribute to an overall score. By plugging data into each field you can see just how well the property you're looking at matches your ideal home, and then compare multiple houses or apartments against one another for an objective tally of which is most right for you. The app also includes a handy map feature which shows you where each location is in relation to your current home or workplace so you can easily factor in commute time and how far you'll have to lug all your stuff.

While the app does a great job of helping you organize what you've already looked at, it doesn't offer any sort of help in searching for potential homes. It would be nice if the app could take the criteria you entered and then scour the web for properties matching what you're looking for, but that's not in the cards. Still, for what it is the app works extremely well and offers a great service.

Cool Igloo is available for free, with the option of purchasing a pro version. We only got to test out the base model of the app, so we can't really speak to what enhancements pro brings, though we know it adds more customizable categories, so you can expand your search to take account of even more factors. If you're in the market for a new home, this handy free tool can do a lot to assist you in your search.

House M.D. – The Game

iPhone App - Designed for iPhone, compatible with iPad

Our rating: starstarstarblankstarblankstar :: ON LIFE SUPPORT
House M.D. is an unexpected logic puzzle hybrid that is interesting at first, but quickly loses steam. A handful of images and sound clips add some window-dressing, but little else.
