How to play Pokemon GO without killing your battery

Posted by Nick Tylwalk on July 13th, 2016

Just like Benjamin Franklin said the only two certainties in life were death and taxes, there are two equally unavoidable truths about Pokemon GO. The first is that it's a phenomenon on a scale which mobile gaming has yet to see, and the second is that it's an absolute terror for the battery life of your iPhone or iPad.

We're talking about play sessions that can be measured in minutes, not hours, if you attempt to go out for a Pokemon-catching stroll without your battery indicator at 100 percent. And even fully charged, Pokemon GO eats up juice at a dizzying rate.

If you're a lifelong Pokemon fan who appreciates the way that Pokemon GO celebrates the original 151, you've probably ended up asking yourself one big question: Where are the legendary Pokemon?

Specifically, we're interested in the whereabouts of Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos. The three legendary birds are part of that initial group of Pokemon a few decades ago, and they just so happen to look a lot like the emblems of the three teams you're asked to join:

How to get Pokemon to come to you in Pokemon GO

Posted by Nick Tylwalk on July 12th, 2016

If one of the goals that went into the making of Pokemon GO was for Niantic and Nintendo to get more people to go outside and be more active -- and it certainly seems like it was -- them mission accomplished. Go just about anywhere that the smash mobile sensation has been officially rolled out (apologies again to our Canadian friends) and you'll find people out and about trying to add to their collections.

That's great to see, but there are times when it's simply not feasible to track Pokemon down where they live. All of us have work, school, or some other kind of obligation that keeps us tethered to a single spot for hours at a time. Wouldn't it be great if you could get Pokemon to come to you?

Pokemon GO has taken the mobile gaming world by storm, but its success has come despite, and definitely not because of, its almost complete lack of tutorials.

Sites like this one should be grateful though, as the game's bare bones approach to explaining the basics has allowed us to help pick up the slack. In this case, we're going to discuss how to ensure you never run out of that most essential of supplies, the Pokeball.

Now that it seems to be working a little more often for more players,Pokémon GO is turning out to be a lot of fun. Who wouldn't want to be able to catch Pokémon out in real world environments, after all?

The one big obstacle that stands in your way is how little you're told before you set off into the world to try catching those irresistible pocket monsters. A mysterious professor simply tells you he wants help with his research, gives you somePokéballsand an incubator and is like, "Okay, good luck!"

While all of our American readers were celebrating their independence earlier this week -- ironically from the country that 148apps' parent company calls home -- Supercell got to work dropping a fresh new Clash Royale update on everyone.

In similar fashion to previous updates, this one included both new cards and balance changes made to various existing cards. There's even a brand new arena: Frozen Peak, which unlocks once you've reached 2300 trophies.

Posted by Nick Tylwalk on July 3rd, 2016

In CSR Racing 2, you're only as cool as your garage. NaturalMotion and Zynga stocked their new drag racing title with an imprssive selection of top notch vehicles, enough to ever make Jay Leno envious if they were all in one real life collection.

But it's one thing to talk about all the sweet rides in CSR2 and another to actually be able to grab them for yourself. With two dozen manufacturers represented and cars spread across five different tiers, there's a lot of work to do to collect them all.

If we've learned anything about celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay over the years, it's that you don't want him angry and breathing down your neck. He's not above calling you out on TV, making a mockery of your efforts in the kitchen in front of millions of people.

In his new game, Gordon Ramsay DASH, he's actually pretty complimentary of your cooking efforts -- provided you get orders right and serve customers efficiently. The road to doing that is paved with upgrades, as you'll need both better food and improved appliances to become a true 'Rising Star Chef.'

NaturalMotion and Zynga brought a lot of real life cars to the table for CSR Racing 2. From souped up everyday rides made by Nissan and Hyundai to supercars produced by the likes of McLaren and Pagani, there really is something for everyone.

Naturally, the first question a lot of gamers have about a title like this is, "How many cars on there?" That's generally followed closely by another: "How do I get my hands on them?"

CSR Racing 2, or CSR2, as it likes to call itself, has finally arrived. The follow-up to the immensely popular drag racing game CSR Racing is the first release from NaturalMotion since the studio's acquisition by Zynga in early 2014.

That takes care of the "why you should care" part. Along with what NaturalMotion is calling "beyond console quality" visuals, CSR Racing 2tinkers with the formula of its predecessor just enough to stake out some of its own turf.

How to get coins faster in Rodeo Stampede

Posted by Nick Tylwalk on June 28th, 2016

There comes a time in a cowboy or cowgirl's life when all the riding and lassoing skills in the world aren't enough. You're going to need some cold, hard cash to keep your sky zoo expanding in Rodeo Stampede.

Alas, until you really get the hang of being both an ace animal tamer and a zoo tycoon, you're probably going to find your virtual pocket empty on occasion. It can't be helped, because the main ways for earning coins are completing missions and opening your sky zoo to the public, and both have their limits.

How to out-do Cam Newton in Can You Dab?

The thing about dance crazes is that you're never really sure when they've run their course. Take the Dab, for instance. Propelled by its adoption as the touchdown celebration of choice for Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, the Dab seemed like it was so 2015.

And then Can You Dab? came out and suggested that maybe we shouldn't shovel dirt on the Dab's grave just yet. This insanely simple game has seen quite a swell in popularity since its release, even though there's really not that much to it.

So you've sunken plenty of hours into crawling around in slither.io on your iPhone or iPad. You've got your stories of tragedy and triumph, the times you coiled four snakes at one time balanced out by the others when you had a length of more than 30,000 and some little jerk swerved in front of you at the last second.

You've even followed our adviceand practiced the art of self-sacrifice so that you can play with a friend, since the ability to choose your own server still hasn't made it into the game yet. But let's say you have other mates without iOS devices? Is there a way to play with them too?
