Any game that involves cats dressed up and reenacting various scenes from movies wins my vote. The incredibly entertaining MovieCat! was a huge success and created some exciting buzz back in 2010, and now it’s time for MovieCat 2 - The Movie Trivia Gaming Sequel. In 2012, the original game won the 148Apps Best App Ever Award in the Trivia Gaming category, so naturally it has a lot to live up to.

Nonetheless, MovieCat! fans can breathe easy, for MovieCat 2 is every bit as highly amusing and enjoyable as its predecessor in every way. Featuring over 1000 all new text and visual puzzles about almost every movie one can possibly think of, this is a game for cat lovers and trivia fans alike. The game is largely similar to its purrfectly exciting older brother, but fans of the previous will be able to get their thinking caps on and flex those brain cells for brand new original puzzles Rhyme Time, Prop Art, Classics and Details, Details.

If I’m honest, I found this game awfully addictive and increasingly hard to put down. Even writing this I’m itching to replay it. The game sets itself up to allow for one or two players to join in on the action, and throws up a whole variety of categories from questions based on Comedy and Horror to mixing things up with a return of previous delights such as Dress Up and Match Three.

Like before, each game is divided into five rounds of five categories each. Players get three attempts per category if they select a wrong answer, but on the third strike one of the nine cat lives is lost (although sometimes it’s cute to hear the protesting meow, however sad it is!). However, playing on medium or hard modes equal to losing more lives on incorrect answers. For those who make it to the end of the five rounds, players get one chance to answer a final question and answering this correctly will reward them with a caterrific movie scene re-enacted by our favorite felines.

Luckily, throughout my whole 4 hours play through I didn’t really notice any repeating questions, so it’s obvious there’s oodles of replay value here and enough variety to warrant many hours of playtime. Nobody can turn down a game fit to burst with some wonderfully adorable cute kitties, either.
