I didn’t get a chance to use Delibar when it came out for the Mac but if it’s anything like the iPhone version, it’s certainly useful if you’ve got a busy life.

Delibar is an app that allows you to view your Delicious and Pinboard bookmarks. I’ve not used Pinboard before but I rather like Delicious now and it’s almost all thanks to Delibar. Delicious enables me to collect up the best links I find and share them amongst others. Even better, it means these links are located in the cloud so I can access them anywhere. I’m a busy person. I juggle my online life between multiple laptops and desktops, not forgetting my trusty iPhone – it’s handy to be able to access my links from wherever. Even better, Delicious lets me check out links that other people recommend.

Everyone likes to have a central app to use with such things though, right? Enter Delibar, which fits nicely into the general iOS look and enables me to switch between different accounts easily amongst other things. You can search through your multitude of links thanks to an effective search engine in which you can save your search string. Delibar only plucks out the most recent links so it’s not overwhelming, but you can still look further back if you choose. You can share via email if you like, open in Safari or the internal browser and it all just works, just how you’d like it to. You can even install a bookmarklet so that you can save bookmarks from your iPhone at the touch of a button.

It’s a really handy app. I found myself frequently using it when out and about with a spare 5-10 minutes to catch up on links. It was great to feel connected with what links my friends were interested in. I could even feel it increasing my productivity as I found myself reading things I wouldn’t have had the time to consult while at my work PC. It’s quickly becoming an app that I can’t do without and that’s saying something from someone who hardly used Delicious before!
