New SteamWorld game expected to arrive in 2017

SteamWorld creators Image & Form are kicking off their 20th year by releasing a new SteamWorld game in the coming months. In the latest episode of Image & Form's video series, The Engine Room, Julius andBrjánn tease that there are exciting things in store for 2017.

The duo were hesitant to reveal any more details on the upcoming project, but we can expect to test the game out for ourselves at PAX East 2017 in Boston, which will be mighty exciting.There's no word on which platforms the game will run on, but given the huge success of SteamWorld Heist on iOS, odds are pretty good that the team will have something in store for mobile fans as well.

Image & Form is also getting the community involved once more with fresh SteamWorld Ambassador Challenges as development on the new title progresses. The team is getting serious about the ambassador program this year, and will likely be hosting more frequent challenges in the new year. Ambassadors get exclusive info on new games as they're being developed, along with free games. You can become an ambassador by winning the titular challenges -- they usually involve designing characters, naming weapons, and more. Sounds like great fun for creative types!
