It is that sacred week for all those who enjoy showing their stuff on the dancefloor and dressing in fabulously extravagant gear, as Carnival is in full swing in Rio de Janeiro. And where there is a party, there is a designated driver, or in the case of Planes Control, a designated pilot.

Thanks to Planes Control, you will be in charge of flying these festival revellers to and from the bustling city from February 16th all the way to March 6th. The Carnival itself ends on the 17th, but let’s not tell the flyers that. It will be a nice surprise when they land and the dancing has already stopped.

As you can expect, the airways will be hit with carnival fever, with a huge number of planes looking to join in the fun. When you land them, you will receive a nice greeting with festive words like “samba” and “festival” popping up, which is a nice touch. Even the birds are in the mood, coming in colourful flocks. They may down a plane, but at least it will be a fancy tragedy.

This update adds Carnival to Planes Controls’ already bulging suite of cultural celebration updates, joining the likes of Halloween, Christmas, the Holi festival, and Oktoberfest to name a few. You may not be able to attend all of these in the real world, but at least you can be there in spirit.

When announcing this update, a Rarepixels spokesperson said: “This limited-time update of Planes Control offers players a fresh perspective on the carnival experience, enhancing their gaming enjoyment and celebrating the cultural significance of carnivals worldwide. We aim to ensure that every gamer, regardless of location, can partake in the Carnival festivities, if only on their mobile phone screen."

Planes Control is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
