The 50 Billion App Download Mark Draws Near [Updated]

The App Store is getting very close to hitting 50 billion downloads and we wanted to remind you of the contest Apple is running. It's only a matter of time until someone downloads the 50 billionth app, winning a $10,000 dollar App Store gift card. Also, the next 50 apps downloaded after the 50 billionth app will receive a $500 dollar gift care. Keep downloading those apps because it's almost time!
Update #1 Our quick and dirty calculations show that the 50 Billionth app should be downloaded just about the time the Google IO keynote kicks off tomorrow. That news should hit and put a crimp on the coverage of Google. Ouch.
