Well known classic RPG “Shin Megami Tensei” franchise originally created by Atlus, can now be played throughout iOS and Android. Created by Sega, “Shin Megami Tensei” has spawned a mobile-centric installment in the shape of “Shin Megami Tensei: liberation Dx2.”

JRPG fans may already be familiar with the dark world of Shin Megami Tensei. It's a place where demons from another realm lurk around every corner, and where tough heroes have to fight, capture and assemble them into a party. 26 years since the franchise began, Shin Megami Tensei Liberation Dx2 adds another chapter to the story, this time on mobile. If you haven't given it a go yet, here are three reasons why we think you should.

Negotiating with demons

Aside from chatting to other heroes, gameplay in Shin Megami Tensei mostly involves pitting your team of demons against those in the wilds of post-apocalyptic Tokyo. The turn-based battles aren't just about vanquishing your enemy but adding them to your Demon Compendium (a bit like a scarier Pokédex). One of the novel elements of gameplay in Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation Dx2 is the way you can negotiate with enemy demons to win them over. In the battle, a 'talk' bubble may pop up above the head of your foe. Tap this to engage in a tête-à-tête. The dialogue options you choose can persuade the demon to join you - but be sure to select answers based on the demon's personality. Say the wrong thing, and that's that.

Fusing your demons

The most sure-fire way to get the demon you want is through fusion. This is a bit like following a recipe, with demonic ingredients added to the dish to make something bigger and better. A bit of Magnetite, plus two demons - one of which must be Common - and out pops a more powerful demon.

Down in the dungeons

If you're a fan of the franchise, you'll be happy to know that dungeon crawling is alive and well in Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation Dx2. Through the glowing doors of the Aura Gate, you can enter an eerie realm populated by demons. You get to take two sets of demons with you to help you in your fight. The aim is to clear each floor, including its end boss, before preceding to the next. You keep going until your energy's up, and then you'll be rewarded for all your hard work.

There's plenty more to enjoy too, with stunning visuals, a PvP mode, guild feature called “Faction,” and more of that intriguing dystopian storyline. And not to mention Augmented reality!
