App Description

Herman Melville: A Historical Collection dives into the writings of the American master with this collection of novels and short stories, including the classic Moby-Dick.

The App includes 40+ primary source historical artifacts by the American writer who didn’t rise to fame until long after his death. His first novel "Typee” made him an overnight celebrity. Four more novels followed, each based on some aspect of the sea-faring life. Critics liked each book less and less, however, and by the time he published "Moby-Dick" in 1851 the wind had left his sails. Despite its poetic language, sharply drawn characters and unique style, critics complained that the novel was uneven, irregular and obscure. Though he sadly never lived to see it, Melville’s reputation is now firmly anchored in the world of classic American literature.

App Features:

• Offline Bookshelf: Download the books for easy reading, anytime.

All artifacts within this app are available only in English.
