- Aviation Layers; pilots will appreciate some new additions to the types of data we can overlay on top of the map. AIRMETs and SIGMETs can now be displayed (for you non-pilots, these are special aviation-specific weather conditions). In addition, if you are an IFR pilot, you can configure MyRadar with your favorite Aircraft tail number (or flight ID), and whenever we detect a recently-filed IFR flight plan for that ID, we'll automatically display the FAA's assigned route of flight on top of the map, allowing you to take a quick check of the weather along your planned route! (Please note, this is not a QICP "certified weather" source).

- Streamlined Layers menu; we've made a few small tweaks to the layers menu to better organize the features available to each layer. Layers that have a blue "arrow" icon to the right have additional settings & options that you can configure.

- Support for iPhone 5

App Description

** NOTE: An Internet connection is required to use Flightwise Chart Explorer. This app cannot and should not be used for in-flight navigation; it is for reference only! **

Flightwise Chart Explorer displays aviation maps - VFR sectional charts and IFR enroute charts, as well as standard road and satellite maps. Animated NEXRAD weather radar is displayed on top of the map, allowing you to see how the weather will affect your flight plans.

The map has the standard pinch/zoom capability which allows you to smoothly zoom and pan around the United States and see what the weather is like anywhere.

Chart Explorer currently only shows maps in the United States, and only in the 48 contiguous states - not Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico.
