Rebellion, developers of Sniper Elite and Aliens Vs. Predator, are releaing a new fast-paced motorcycle racing game called Raceline CC. The game uses Apple's new Metal API to render slick graphics at an amazing looking speed.
Rebellion has launched a mobile version of their classic game of world domination, Evil Genius Online, for iOS.
Here you'll be wringing your hands and laughing maniacally as you build your secret lair and train minions to do your bidding. Your work will carry over between Facebook and your mobile device so you can play wherever your evil heart desires. You can also spy on your friends and disrupt whatever evil plans they were planning to carry out. Who will become the master evil genius? Rank up on the leader boards to find out.
Evil Genius Online can be downloaded for free on the App Store now.
Metal was announced back at WWDC, and Rebellion Co-founder and CTO Chris Kingsley has stated that he saw its potential as soon as it was announced:
"We’re excited to be working so closely with Apple’s technology in our Asura Engine as it will empower us to code to Metal, remove some of the main rendering bottlenecks, and bring even better looking, more immersive games to iOS devices. Metal is leading the way in the next generation of mobile rendering technologies. It could be a real turning point for mobile gaming."
Whilst no games were mentioned, it's very likely that we can look forward to some Rebellion games coming out and using the new 3D API sometime in the future.
