Prince of Persia The Shadow and the Flame Review
Prince of Persia The Shadow and the Flame Coming July 25th
Prince of Persia The Shadow and the Flame is set to make its appearance in the App Store on July 25th for the price of $2.99. In three weeks time, you'll be able to relive the classic Prince of Persia title that follows the same story line as the original, 20 years ago. The game will feature enhanced visuals and intuitive controls for touchscreen gameplay, and get ready for an improved combat system with tactical challenges and a brand new combo system.
Prince of Persia: The Shadow and The Flame Leaps Onto iOS This Summer
Prince of Persia fans will be happy to know that Prince of Persia: The Shadow and The Flame has been announced for iOS. The same studio that brought Prince of Persia Classic HD to iOS last year is developing this title, giving players redesigned controls, graphics and gameplay. Fans can jaunt through the game's 15 different levels with the choice of virtual sticks or tap-to-move controls.
The developers, Ubisoft Pune, considered the original game as a blueprint on how to approach the iOS version. They have preserved the story and characters and kept the environments and levels similar to the original. The iOS version is meant to be more accessible as well by eliminating trail and error, giving players a more forgiving platforming experience. This will make story mode easier for casual players. However, hardcore gamers can give themselves a tougher challenge by beating the game in the quickest time possible.
Expect Prince of Persia: The Shadow and The Flame to arrive this summer.

Hands On Preview: Prince of Persia: Warrior Within for the iPhone
Recently, Gameloft called press members to Paris to celebrate their 10th Anniversary and to take a look at some new iPhone and iPad games. This is our first of a series of hand on preview articles on what we saw there. Most of the games we saw should be out this month, with more new ones following right behind them. So it was at Le Cite de la Mode et du Design that we got our grubby little hands on this most anticipated iPhone game.
Prince of Persia: Warrior Within is a port of the game of the same title released for Xbox, PS2, GameCube, and the desktop PC. It was also renamed Prince of Persia: Relevations and released for the Sony PSP. The PSP version is the one I'm most familiar with and remember playing it for some time. Unfortnatly I could never finish the game as it kept locking up at some point near the end (bad UMD most likely). The cut scenes and voice overs are transferred straight from the console version.
New Prince of Persia Screenshots Revealed
Been dying to see Prince of Persia on your iPhone? You're in luck. It looks like we'll be seeing it sometime in the future, and in the meantime, Gameloft has released some brand-new eye candy to feast your eyes upon. And boy, is it ever pretty. The ever-humble folks at Gameloft have even called their work "beautiful." And, hey, who can blame them?
The upcoming title will be titled Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, and judging from the screenshots, it will share at least some traits with the PSP game of the same name. While we've yet to see gameplay footage, the screenshots reveal that the game will use the typical setup of a virtual joystick in the left corner and a scattering of basic action buttons (fight, block, and jump?) on the right. As far as the actual gameplay goes, expect to see plenty of action. The released screenshots give us a taste: the Prince attacking a pair of enemies, the Prince standing over another character (a fallen enemy?), and...is he riding that creature? Interesting.
We don't yet know when Prince of Persia: Warrior Within will be released, but we'll keep you posted as more information emerges.
