Telltale Games has just released the latest episode in the seven episode season of Law & Order: Legacies.

Episode Four, entitled Nobody's Child, focuses on an event from New Year's Eve 1999. The battered body of a boy is discovered in an alley and the investigation that follows unearths a case of shocking abuse along with criminal indifference in high places.

As before, the player take the roles of both investigators and district attorneys alongside the likenesses of characters such as Lennie Briscoe, Rey Curtis, Olivia Benson and Jack McCoy.

Multiple endings are offered depending on moral decisions and the seven episodes will eventually piece together to form a season-wide mystery.

Unlike other Telltale Games titles, episodes are available by purchasing the first episode for $2.99 then paying $2.99 for future episodes or $12.99 to unlock the full season. No doubt a bargain for many fans of the iconic TV show.

Episode Four is out now.

Telltale Games are back at it again, fellow gumshoes, and they are bringing some of the biggest names in Law & Order history along for the ride.  With two episodes already in the can for the Law & Order franchise, today marks the launch of the third episode in the series: Killer Smart.  Here is the rundown of the case:
In Episode 3: Killer Smart an investigation of bodies dumped along a lonely stretch of road in Long Island is underway.  The killers are revealed to be an intelligent sociopath and a dim-witted thug, who bizarrely decide to represent themselves in court.  The sociopath attempts to manipulate his partner’s weakness to turn the case against him.  But the partner is fiercely loyal. The player must now decide how to wedge them apart—or convict them both.

Can the detectives crack the case, or is this another file that will go cold?  The only way to find out is to download this latest $2.99 installment or buy the entire six episode season for $12.99.  No matter how you cut it, this is a deal that you shouldn't let slip through the cracks.

As much as this could have been a proper love note to Law & Order fans, it falls tragically short in far too many areas.

Five For Friday: Week Of December 23

Posted by Jennifer Allen on December 23rd, 2011

Christmas is mere moments away so it's easy to lose track of all the latest releases to hit the App Store in the past week. Never fear, for we have a roundup of five of the best apps and games just in time for the festive weekend.

Boy Loves Girl
A reminder that the course of true love never runs smoothly is that of Boy Loves Girl, a platforming adventure spanning more than 50 levels. Players take the role of a young boy as he braves the elements and explores uncharted territory all in the name of love.

Cartoonatic+
Over the festive season, many photos and videos will no doubt be taken by revellers as they spend time with loved ones and want to retain visual memories. Cartoonatic+ lets users do exactly that but while also adding one of 14 cartoon filters, each created by professional cartoon artists. Effects can be switched around in real time and music, plus videos speeded up for a fun twist.

Law & Order: Legacies
Telltale Games has quite a following for its titles and understandably so. Transferring the point and click adventure style to so many famous franchises such as Back To The Future and Jurassic Park has been extremely successful. Next up is Law & Order: Legacies with crimes to be solved by all the Law & Order team.

Action Movie FX
Adding cutesy effects to videos is fine but how about some explosions? That's what Action Movie FX offers! From Bad Robot Interactive, the app side of the movie production company of the same name, Action Movie FX lets users add Hollywood style effects to their videos. Included in the free version is a missile attack and a car crash style effect.

The Eatery
It's the time for great indulgence but for those looking to keep track of what they eat, The Eatery is a different way of approaching the subject. Rather than just counting calories, users take a photo of their meal or snack then rate how healthy they think it is, thus getting them to think about their decisions. There's even social functionality for those looking for a second opinion on their meal choices.
