IK Multimedia, purveyor of fine musician-quality iOS peripherals and software, has announced a new keyboard today: iRig Keys. This portable keyboard has 37 velocity-sensitive keys, is Core MIDI and USB class compliant, and will work with iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, and Mac or PC computers. There's also free software for every platform, and it will work with any other MIDI compliant software, like Garageband.

iRig KEYS will be shipping in Fall 2012 for $99.99/€74.99 (excluding taxes) and will be available from musical instrument and consumer electronics retailers around the world. Pre-orders are now available from the IK Online store and other selected online stores.

AmpliTube Fender, from IK Multimedia, is a guitar amplifier modeling app, allowing users to rock that famous Fender sound with their guitar or bass, using classic amp sounds like the ’59 Bassman, the Fender ’65 Twin Reverb, the Super-Sonic, the '65 Deluxe Reverb and the Pro Junior. It also includes classic Fender stompbox models like the Fender Blender, Overdrive, Tape Echo, Phaser and Compressor.

Today, AmpliTube Fender gets updated to 1.2, bringing MIDI integration, digital audio support, audio copy and paste, and a redesigned (and Retina-compatible) interface.

With a connected MIDI capable device like the iRig MIDI, users can now use AmpliTube Fender hands-free on stage, controlling every knob, switch, or preset in the interface with a MIDI-capable foot controller. The feature is available as in-app purchase and it is free for iRig MIDI users.

AmpliTube Fender has always included a recording feature but the redesigned recording studio now supports audio copy and paste, for quickly moving audio around for the perfect mix. You can also copy from AmpliTube Fender and then copy to external apps like GarageBand.

Digital audio interfaces are now fully supported, allowing you to connect to any iOS compatible digital audio devices, like the StealthPlug USB audio interface cable, making getting audio in and out a snap.

The new AmpliTube Fender 1.2 update is now available in the App Store as a free update for all previous AmpliTube Fender users on iPhone, iPod touch or iPad.

My isn’t Slash just having a massive comeback year? He’s got a new album, new band mates, and now he’s got a an app for rockers with his brand on it. While you’d have to be hiding in a bunker not to be at least passingly acquainted with the late 80’s metal icon of Guns N' Roses fame, you may not be familiar with IK’s line of audio accessories.

But, if you are a guitarist or bassist with an iPad you’ve likely at least stumbled across their AmpliTube apps. The first iteration was featured in the original iPad ads and lets you play and record music with realistic amp effects. Now they’ve released AmpliTube Slash, a universal app with the same pedals and Marshal amps Slash favors.

The app, like the rest in the series, is also a multi-track recording studio. Apparently Apocalyptic Love, Slash’s new album was helped along with several IK products including iRig.

“AmpliTube iRig comes in really handy for on-the-go practicing, recording, or just jamming on different ideas – even if it’s on the bus – it’s right with me all the time,"  Slash said, adding, “I’ll do some tweaks on the Marshalls, but there are also different effects that are available including distortion, chorus, auto-wah and more.”

AmpliTube Slash is sold as a stand-alone product or the effects can be purchased in AmpliTube’s main app as in-app purchases at $9.99 for the whole kit or a-la-carte effects for $2.99 each.

It's been an exceptionally busy first day at CES for music focused experts IK Multimedia with the announcement of 4 different products to come from their stable very soon. It's of particular interest for DJs of all skill levels with a number of products specifically aimed at that market.

The iRig Mix is one such product. It's the first mobile mixer for an iOS device, promising to offer the same controls that would be expected from a professional DJ mixer. Including a crossfader, cues, EQ and volume controls all in an impressively compact format, the hardware can be used with a number of different DJ mixing tools.

One of the more clever features behind the iRig Mix is that it can be used for mixing any type of audio source including but not limited to MP3 players or CD players, all supplemented with automatic tempo matching and beat-syncing. Other features within the hardware ensures that musicians as well as DJs can gain benefits from it thanks to the extra guitar/microphone input that can be processed by other aps such as AmpliTube and VocaLive.

The iRig Mix is powered easily via a regular phone charger as well as through a laptop's USB port for maxiumum convenience.

It's set for release in February and is priced at $99.99.

What better way of using the iRig Mix than by using IK Multimedia's DJ Rig app? Set for release soon, it's a feature rich, double-deck DJ mixing app for iOS devices. Professional functionality oozes throughout the app such as visual cue points, crossfader curves and an on-the-fly sampler with 4 banks of 9 pads. Most originally is the ability to automatically synchronize the app audio with any external audio source thanks to DJ Rig's ability to listen to the device's audio input and determine its BPM tempo.

DJ Rig is set to be available in two formats: a free version offering a reduced set of 6 effects and 1 pad sound bank and the full version priced at $9.99.

Other musicians haven't been forgotten about with the iRig Mic Cast aiding those in need of a great means to record audio. It's a pocket-sized piece of hardware that can be attached to the audio port of the iOS device in order to provide crystal-clear audio quality. It's ideal for recording podcasts, interviews, lectures, speeches or just regular voice memos. Two different sensitivity settings ensure that the sound quality is always strong regardless of if the source is near or distant.

The iRig Mic Cast will be released this quarter, priced at $39.99.

Finally, in this plethora of announcements, is the iRig STOMP, the first stompbox guitar interface for iOS. Guitar and bass players can now integrate signal processing apps into their existing pedalboard setup for enhanced tone shaping and effects processing.

The device is compatible with any guitar/amp/instrument app for maximum flexibility and promises precise adjustments for guitar players who prefer to have ultimate control over the sound they produce.

Set for release in Q2 of this year, the iRig STOMP will cost $59.99.

IK Multimedia has built up quite a reputation for its numerous products aimed at professional musicians. Whether it be the iKlip, iKlip Mini or AmpliTube, there's something for every form of music recording. Such variety has been enhanced, today, with the release of SampleTank an app that promises to be 'the first professional quality sound and groove module that puts hundreds of world-class instruments and patterns in your pocket'.

The app allows its users to play SampleTank instruments on stage with the addition of the iRig MIDI interface and a conventional keyboard controller, or directly with the on screen keyboard.

SampleTank is out now in two different varieties. The free version of SampleTank includes 8 different instruments and over 400 patterns of riffs and grooves. A version priced at $9.99 includes 72 instruments and over 900 different patterns. Numerous in-app purchases are available ranging from $4.99 to $39.99. These can increase the number of instruments to 16 different instrument categories, offering in all over 400 instruments that cover pretty much everything worth considering. Drums, pianos, bass, guitars, synthesizers, strings, percussions, it's all in there.

IK Multimedia, makers of the iRig Mic for iOS, and the iKlip for the iPad, have introduced their latest accessory: a version of the iKlip for the iPhone and iPod touch called the iKlip Mini. The goal of the iKlip Mini is the same as the full-sized iKlip: to mount the iOS device of choice to a microphone stand. This iKlip is compatible with all iPhone and iPod touch models, supports both landscape and portrait orientations, and comes with detachable bracket support for the iRig's microphone adapter to attach to the side of the iOS device. All buttons on the device are accessible, and the clip can be installed either on the microphone stand's pole or boom. The iKlip Mini will be available soon for $39.99 from IK Multimedia's web store, or from select music and electronic retailers. The original iKlip was rated four stars here on 148Apps; hopefully the iKlip Mini proves to work just as well.

148Apps editor, Rob LeFebvre, was quite impressed with his time with the iKlip back in April. It provided him with a great way to attach a first generation iPad to a microphone stand, thus making it easy to consult for everything from speeches to lyrics or music sheets.

Now, IK Multimedia has announced the release of the iKlip for the iPad 2. It's a similar device but geared towards the iPad 2 by offering a new mounting kit that sets to be just as effective but aimed at the new slimmer build of the iPad 2. It also works around the new back-facing camera on the iPad 2 ensuring that it never gets in the way of using it. As before, users can position the iPad to either portrait or landscape orientation. It's worth noting that the new iKlip adaptors still allow for users to use it with the iPad 1 ensuring it works well for everyone.

The iKlip is available now for $39.99/€29.99 (excluding tax) from the IK online store as well as select music and electronic retailers across the world.

Any users who have already got an older version of the iKlip and require the iPad 2 adaptors can pick them up for $9.99/€7.99. Users who purchased the iKlip after May 1st 2011 can claim the iPad 2 adaptors for free by providing a proof of purchase to IK Multimedia.

IK Multimedia, creators of the iRig guitar interface allowing guitarists to play their guitar on iOS devices, are back with the iRig Mic, a handheld condenser microphone with multiple gain settings designed to work with iOS devices. Similar to the iRig, it comes with an adapter that plugs into your iPhone/iPod touch/iPad's headphone/mic jack, and the adapter has a sound output for monitoring your sound with headphones or plugging into a sound system. The microphone will work with any app that supports sound input, including the new GarageBand app for iPad, but several apps from IK Multimedia are available that will utilize the iRig Mic: VocaLive, which offers real-time vocal processing effects; AmpliTube, so guitarists can add vocals to their guitar playing with the app; and finally, iRig Recorder, a free audio recording app that is coming soon. The iRig Mic is available from IK Multimedia for $59.99.

IK Multimedia has announced that VocaLive, a professional performing and recording vocal processor app, is now available on the iTunes App Store for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. The software serves as a recording solution for iOS users, whether they want to use their device's built-in microphone or purchase the iRig Microphone.

VocaLive provides vocalists with 12 real-time professional vocal effects and the capability to record studio quality sound on their portable device. The company describes its app as an "easy to use" but "extremely powerful" tool that produces the professional results one would normally have to use expensive hardware and software to achieve.

The software includes 5 vocal effects: "Pitch Fix (for tuning correction or stylized quantization FX), Choir (a 3-part harmonizer), Morph (an X-Y pitch and formant shifter that changes the tonal quality of the voice from subtle deepening to radical gender bending), De-Esser and Double (Double effect gets unlocked by registering)," according to the company.

What's more, it also features 7 Studio Effects: Reverb, Delay, Parametric EQ, Compressor, Chorus, Phazer and Envelope Filter. The individual effects can be combined into a chain of up to three and then saved as a preset. And to get you started, there are 50 presets included out of the box.

VocaLive allows you to record vocals or instruments with added effects, but it also allows you to sing along with your favorite songs in your iPod collection. Using the Voice Cancel option, you can remove lyrics from songs, allowing you to provide the vocals entirely by yourself. You can also use Vocal Tools and a metronome to warm up your voice before beginning.

VocaLive is now available on the iTunes App Store for $19.99. There is also a free version of the app, which doesn't come with as many effects or presets but can be expanded. You're able to individually purchase desired effects as you choose. While you can use the app with the built-in microphone, it also supports the iRig Mic, sold separately for $59.99.

Every day the iPad can be something different - a fun way to play games one day and an easier way to read books the next. Now, it's music's turn with AmpliTube for iPad. Amplitude is a virtual amp and effects processor for your guitar or bass, allowing you to plug in your instrument via the iPad's 3.5mm jack connection with some specially designed kit made by IK Multimedia. The application is available now for $19.99. There is a free version available, with a limited number of effects, but you can buy and download effects on-the-go.

AmpliTube provides the same twenty-three effects as the iPhone edition, which was released last month also at $19.99. Such effects include five amp models, eleven stompbox effects, five cabinets and two mics. For a full break down, see the bottom of this post. The iPad's extra power means that it can handle four simultaneous stompbox effects, rather than three on the iPhone. In addition, a built-in tuner and metronome are provided, as well as the ability to import songs and backing tracks.

The specially designed kit that I mentioned earlier, namely IK Multimedia's iRig, costs $39.99 (€29.99) but doesn't include the premium version of AmpliTube. You plug your guitar into iRig, which then connects to your iPad. It offers a 3.5mm line-out for headphones and speakers. You can buy it here.
