Virexian Guide: Become the toughest starship in the galaxy

Virexian is a high-speed interstellar shooter. It's a neon, pixellated roguelike adventure with bunches of weapons to collect and a number of intense arcade challenge modes. Virexian starts off simple enough, but really ramps up the difficulty after the first few levels, depending on the mode you're playing on.

There are a few strategies to keep in mind, whether you're playing a survival challenge or rogue mode. Stick to your guns and you'll make it through.

Use your weapons strategically

You'll find new weapons popping up on the map every now and then. Experiment with them to see what they do, and then use them with some smart strategy. Ranged weapons that toss out static sawblades are good if you want to block a choke point, while focused lasers are great for taking out swarms of enemies in open combat. Figure out what works best for you!

Explore the map

Each map is procedurally generated, so you never know what you're going to end up with. If you're not too busy being attacked by enemy ships, try to fly around and see what you're working with. You'll find there will be some spaces to hide out and shoot at enemies one by one. It's important to use your environment to your advantage if you want to survive.

Don't shoot constantly

Your weapons are powered by stamina, so don't go spamming the shoot button. You'll need to employ some subtlety. Fight in bursts. Kill a few enemies, then dart around the map to recharge if you must. You don't want to be stuck in a swarm of bad guys with no useable weapons.
