Run Sausage Run! is a mildly sadistic endless runner in which you guide a sausage or any other variety of cured meat through a deadly meat factory full of sawblades and other hazards. Getting a high score in this game is no small feat, and will take a good deal of practice on your part. Here are a few tips and tricks to help you down the path to success.

Slow and steady wins the race . . . mostly

Look ahead and move forward at a slow place until you get to an obstacle. This will ensure that you don't rush into anything headlong. Each trap in the game requires a different approach, so if you move forward slowly, you'll be able to plan your next strategy with plenty of time to spare.

However, once you're ready to run through the obstacle, go as fast as possible. Some traps you can only get past by sprinting and leaning backwards, others require careful timing. Either way, you'll want to get past it as quickly as possible so that you don't get chopped to bits.

Power ups are your friends . . . mostly

You'll find power ups sprinkled throughout the game to help you on your harrowing journey. The Bun will protect you from damage for a short while, rendering you invincible, while the Snowflake will freeze obstacles temporarily, allowing you to sprint through unhindered. The Down Arrow, on the other hand, shrinks you down and helps you to run faster.

However, there is one power up you should avoid at all costs -- the Up Arrow. This will make you slow, big, and you'll be an easy target for any swinging blades. Stay away!

Practice makes perfect

Success in this game comes down to practice, pure and simple. Timing is of the utmost importance. Study up on how best to approach each time of obstacle and note it for everytime you come across it. If you know how to time each one, it will make your life a lot easier. Once you get this down, you'll be well on your way to a high score.
