Portal Knights guide - crafting tips and tricks

In Portal Knights, you're only as strong as the items you have at your disposal. This sandbox adventure is all about crafting and building up the next big thing. Whether you're an avid explorer or collector, crafting will likely play a large part in your Portal Knights experience.

While a lot of the fun in the game comes from experimenting and trying new things, there are a few strategies to help you get your crafting efforts off to the right start. Use these tips and you'll have an enviable collection of weapons, armor, and whatnot before you know it.

Upgrade your crafting stations

In order to gain access to more powerful crafting recipes, you'll have to upgrade your various work stations. Return to your base on a regular basis to check and see if any upgrades are available for your work benches. You'll want to stay up to date on all of the latest armor so that you don't fall behind. If your equipment is underleveled, you'll likely struggle in dungeons or in battles against monsters and enemies.

Learn which materials you need

Eventually your inventory space is going to run out. Keep good stock of the items you use on a regular basis and those that you neglect. It's okay to drop items you don't use, especially if they're super common. Keep yourself stocked with the resources need so you have plenty of room when you're out exploring.

Have a good storage system

To help prevent the previous problem, it also helps to have a good storage system. Build yourself a base (ideally one located close to resources and merchants) and craft some storage chests. Create a storage system that's organized. You can then use this to store any miscellaneous items you might not have a use for at the moment, but that you might need for something later on.
