After a stunning nine years of up-time, you would expect that Kabam has released and re-released every Marvel character you can think of for the mobile fighter Contest of Champions. Now, though, the developers are digging up some old favourites from history, and bringing them up to date.

A few years back, fans might remember the Defenders, monochrome versions of characters you could slap around. Kabam is bringing these back, reworking their old kit to give them a competitive edge in the modern meta, which they are dubbing remixes, and naming them the Deathless.

As you could probably expect, Thanos is behind this. Using the Death Stone, the Mad Titan spawned these empty copies of Champions to invade the Battleralm. Of his soldiers, the best of these received the gift of malicious will and became the Deathless to lead his army. Of these, the first was Guillotine.

In order to recruit this new character you will need to go on a scavenger hunt and find all the pieces to reassemble her sword. It will probably be a bit of a trek, but looking at her kit, she seems quite worth this. Her kit is based on the 2021 version, with the only major change being changing her attack to deal Degeneration instead of Bleed.

This is a rather devastating status, dealing direct damage over time that ignores armor and resistances when it builds up, and Guillitine will inflict it whenever she Crits. If this constant drain wasn’t enough, one of her specials inflicts a 200% potency Spectre debuff that causes healing effects to turn into damage, so you can’t even recover from it.

It gets even worse when you look at her Signature Ability which gives a 10% per four Souls held chance to recover an oddly specific 54.99% of damage dealt, so not only can she prevent healing and drain health fairly easily, but she will keep herself topped up doing it. It appears these remixes are going to be incredibly fun.
