Iron Marines guide - beginner tips and tricks

Iron Marines is a brilliant RTS title that feels a bit like Starcraft. It's got a sci-fi setting and some of the most spectacular strategy mechanics we've seen in mobile games to date.

With that said, the RTS genre can be a bit tricky to break into if you're a newcomer. Here are a few tips to help you on your way.

Explore carefully

Be careful when visiting unknown parts of the map. New areas are fogged out, so you can't see where enemies are lying in wait. Always have a backup plan when setting out to explore. Have a ranged unit to help assist the units heading into the unknown should enemies attack.

At the same time, you should be making an active effort to explore the map. You'll find untapped resources and other valuables that you wouldn't by just following the main objectives.

Replay previous stages

If you find yourself getting stuck in later stages of the game, you might benefit from revisiting past levels. Doing so not only offers some helpful practice, but it's a good way to level up weaker units and earn a little extra currency for upgrades.

Swap units in and out as you see fit

A lot can change in just one map, so be flexible. Feel free to swap units in and out by tapping an already deployed unit. You'll be able to switch to a different unit of the same type. This can be incredibly helpful if you need to adjust your strategy as the stage progresses.
