The Federal Communications Commission has released its FCC Speed Test app, which allows iOS users to measure and record the speeds of their broadband connections. Data can be tracked over time.

The app is crafted with privacy in mind; the developer notes that testing is anonymous. According to the FCC, “The iOS release is the latest step in the Commission’s efforts to crowdsource mobile broadband performance data for the mobile Measuring Broadband America program.”

FCC Speed Test is available for free (and ad-free) on the App Store.
