A lavish party leads to a murder most foul in the first chapter of Murder By Choice

As weird a statement as it is, everyone loves a good murder, especially when new games such as Murder By Choice give amateur sleuths a chance to whip out the old magnifying glass to dig in and solve a mystery. Luckily, the first chapter of Murder By Choice is out now, and dastardly deeds are afoot.

Walking in the shoes of Carla Page, a journalist, the story starts with an invitation from the Chilean billionaire Ruben Navarro, to attend a swanky party on a private island. When Carla arrives, however, a gruesome murder kills the party in its tracks, and worse still, a tropical storm prevents all attendees from leaving the island, including the killer.

With the scene set, players must talk with the other guests to narrow down the list of suspects and determine who the murderer is, however, every decision is critical. Murder By Choice features a branching story, and every choice can alter the course of the whole game.

Outside of interrogations, the player will engage with a variety of unique puzzles across the island to uncover clues, investigate areas to find hidden objects, and maybe hunt down a bevvy of collectables, all before the killer manages to catch up with Carla.

Developers Nordcurrent certainly has a lot of pedigree when it comes to games such as this, making Murder by Choice an enticing title to watch. Their first hidden object title, Murder in the Alps, made quite a splash upon release. As well as being downloaded by over 20 million players, it swiped numerous awards such as Best Casual Game 2018 by Google Play and was narrowly beaten for Best Narrative and Best Mobile Game at the 2019 Central and Eastern European Game Awards.

Murder by Choice can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play, with its first chapter being available for free.
