148Apps' sister site Pocket Gamer is hosting its annual rewards showcase The Pocket Gamer Awards 2022 to honour the good and the great of the mobile gaming world. The past 12 months of gaming will be contending to win one of the many categories on offer this year.

The PGA 2021event was the first time in five years that Pocket Gamer handed out the accolades, and it was fun enough to get a sequel. Many worthy games were considered but only the best could win; Garena Free Fire fought off Bullet Echo and Call of Duty Mobile to win Best Battle Royale, whereas Knighthood was crowned Best RPG ahead of Genshin Impact. Bouncing back hard, Genshin Impact went on to win Mobile Game of the Year, and it's hard to think of anything that deserved it more. At least, for last year.

Steel Media values the opinions of the audience that have amassed across its many sites, which is why the Pocket Gamer Awards are chosen by those who browse its articles. It is important that the mobile gaming public is heard, so there are 24 different categories this year to add a lot of variety to proceedings and make sure everyone is heard.

2022 has been a good year for mobile games, so the Game of the Year Award race is going to be a hot one. If anyone has played a game they think is particularly worthy of high praise between October 1st 2021 and September 30th 2022, they are welcome to visit the nominations page to sing its praises.

Voting will commence on November 1st when Pocket Gamer releases the shortlist for each category. At the end of the month, all entries will be added up, before the winner of each category is unveiled on December 5th. As well as the general voting, the Pocket Gamer editorial team will also decide on a game to induct into its Hall of Fame. Angry Birds was the first winner added last year, setting the bar high for the next lucky inductee.

The clock is ticking and voting has already begun, so head to the Pocket Gamer Awards 2022 nomination page without delay.
