Playing a Musical instrument can offset the symptoms of Dementia by up to 5 years, Dr Doris Bersing PhD - Living Health.
Sing-Along-Machine (SAM) has been created to assist those who have the fear of Dementia, who currently suffer with early stage Dementia. It's a entertainment tool that allows you to train your brain and keep it active by combining singing, playing and adapting different songs to different styles using colour and 5 magic keys. You match the colour of the words to the colours on the keys. The pitch can be adjusted to suit all voices for each song. Tempo can be adjusted to allow you to sing at different speeds to suit all users.
The user function will allow you to store your personal settings for each song you sing so you can go back and sing again and again. You can use the score to compare how you are doing or if you are a caregiver you may want to see how your family/friend/patient is coping. Please note no medical evidence can be provided using this app, it's for entertainment only.
