App Description
nexTrain is a location-based mobile app which puts an MTA subway countdown clock in your pocket!
Real-time train arrival times are supplied for the 1,2,3,4,5,6, and 42 St. Shuttle lines. Pins on the map represent stations in the system.
Selecting the blue indicator from a green pin callout provides a list of up to the next 4 uptown and downtown train arrivals, auto-updated at 30-second intervals. Alerts are provided for any closed stations in real-time.
Selecting a red pin provides a callout to assist in way-finding throughout the system.
The train arrivals displayed are based on the MTA real-time data feed. Information pages provide direct access to MTA.info, an MTA subway map, and 511NY.
Arrival times are based on GTFS real-time data feeds requiring internet connectivity for updates. Location services are required for auto-location of the user to the nearest stations.
