What's New

Thanks to those of you who sent us feedback! We made a lot of fixes and improvements in this upgrade and we hope you'll like it:

• See sightings just at a hotspot - Just set "Distance to Search" to 0 to see only bird sightings at that particular hotspot
• Set a Distance to Search and Timeframe for each of your Favorite Locations: Great for trip planning or your local patch
• Notable Sightings up to 50 miles or km from your current location; BirdsEye members can see reports up to 250 miles (** see below for more information on membership)

There is also a long list of improvements and tweaks to make BirdsEye run more smoothly, including:
• Option to sort your life or year list in taxonomic or alpha order
• When exploring sightings, the map comes up centered on the location you selected rather than defaulting to current location. This is a big improvement for trip planning.
• Updated Flickr link

**We hope you find this update helpful. Improving BirdsEye costs more money than we earn by selling apps. The difference is made up by volunteers and the generous contributions of users. Please consider becoming a BirdsEye member. Your small monthly contribution helps us keep working to create the most innovative bird apps for serious birders.

BirdsEye is for bird finding, status and distribution in the field. It is not a field guide. Photos, sounds and/or text are available for some but by no means all European birds at this point. If you appreciate the bird-finding features of BirdsEye, please consider contributing photos here: www.birdsinthehand.com/photos

Have instant access to eBird reports from your phone. View detailed maps to pinpoint the birds you want to see, whether they are around the corner or across the country. See more birds!

You’ll quickly plan your trips, and when you’re on the move BirdsEye will deliver instant advice from millions of sightings and thousands of experienced eBirders.

Binoculars, books and scopes have long been the essential birding tools. And now, there’s BirdsEye, the indispensable app that gives you the inside scoop about which birds are being seen and where—all in real time. Nearby birds, rare and unexpected species, and maps and directions to birding hotspots are quick and easy to find.

With BirdsEye, you’ll find more birds with our bird finding tips by famed field guide author Kenn Kaufman, along with our detailed photographs and multiple bird songs. You’ll find yourself in the right place, at the right time, with crucial information at your fingertips.

BirdsEye was developed by birders for people who want to find birds. The BirdsEye interface is simple, easy and fast.
