App Description
Energy Wattcher engages with an addictive trivia game loaded with fun facts about fossil fuels and the environment. Ever wonder how many tree seedlings you sequestered from the rainforest due to the burning of fossil fuels so that you could leave your lights on all night while you were gone at the movies? An energy calculator that calculates usage in watts to a number of consequences helps you determine your carbon footprint. Energy Wattcher also offers a button that features the latest and greatest green gadgets loaded as soon as they hit the market, and a button for Eco Hot Spots, that showcases businesses that have taken a position of sustainability and environmental responsibility.
Energy Wattcher is the brainchild of six students at Evans Middle School, Avery, Crystal, Ethan, Johnny, Reed and Sarah and their teacher Mrs. Church. As part of an Eco Challenge, the students developed content that would give individuals who download the app, helpful tips to reducing their energy consumption, and many options with the latest and greatest green gadgets, to becoming carbon neutral.
