App Description

Out of a few thousands of word games/puzzles, WLCN is the only one that uses semantic associations as base to provide puzzles. So the app comes with originality and novelty, in addition to its fun and educational side. The game takes grouped words, often in order, from many different semantic fields (be it a specific category or a hidden scene), and presents the first letters of the words to players. Players will guess what letter comes next. Of course they can get hint if they feel clueless. Some examples:

If the puzzle says S, S, F, you may or may not know what the next letter is, but when you see hint spells out Spr, Sum, and Fal, you'll probably guess it, and you'll definitely know the answer is W for winter when hint spells out Spri, Summ, Fall. The number of question marks in parenthesis is the number of letters of the word in question.

Another easy example:
R(ed), O(range), Y(ellow), G(reen), you know next would be B(lue) as this is the order of colors in a rainbow.

Some other and probably a little bit more difficult examples:
T(humb), I(ndex), M(iddle), R(ing), ?(????)
H(omer), M(arge), B(art), L(isa), ?(?????)
K(ingdom), P(hylum), C(lass), O(rder), ?(?????)
L(ove), F(ifteen), T(hirty), F(ourty), ?(???)

Answers are pinky for fingers; Maggie for the Simpsons; Family as one of taxonomic ranks; and Game for tennis points. If you know the answer, you'll cast a knowing smile. If you don't know why, no worries, the app will show you resource to get know more of it. As puzzle level goes higher, it becomes more difficult and many puzzles may come from uncommon semantic fields. There are about 400 puzzles and getting more and more challenging. You'd better be knowledgeable to solve them and you'll be more knowledgeable after these puzzles.
