Today Screen Widget: Users now have the option of displaying the Pearson Writer widget on their Today Screen, so they can see at a glance when upcoming projects and milestones are due, and link to their Pearson Writer projects to view or update details.
Note Image Extension: This feature allows users to attach photos from their iPhone photo gallery directly to a note in their project’s notebook.
Note Text Extension: This feature allows users to clip website text from the Safari browser on their iPhone directly into their project’s notebook. The URL of the clipped website gets saved along with any text selected.
Spotlight Search: The spotlight search results will now include the Pearson Writer widget on the home screen, so that users can directly link over to the Writer’s Guide. This is available in iOS 9 and above (However this feature will not be supported on iPhone 4s, iPad 2, iPad (3rd generation), iPad mini, and iPod touch (5th generation).
iCal Integration: This feature allows for project and milestone due dates to sync with the iPhone native calendar, and provide calendar notifications for work coming due. Pearson Writer work can now be viewed in the same place as personal tasks, so users can access all their dates in one place.
Updated Mobile Passcode Login Screen: Users will now find the mobile passcode login screen much easier to navigate. They can now view instructions on where to obtain the mobile passcode, as well as links to the marketing site where they can register for or log into the Pearson Writer desktop app directly on the main screen.
UI/UX improvements: Notes displayed in the Notebook Dashboard now include thumbnails for both single notes and grouped notes, using the oldest attachment’s image on top.
Bug fixes: This release addressed several bugs including the ability to add special characters to project names that caused projects to crash, fixes to the source validity score indicator, citation style synchronization across desktop and mobile, and fixes to Writer’s Guide bugs, including how search results are filtered.
