Peer Edit uses a library of pre-written comments to assemble a comprehensive feedback document. A student writer can then use that feedback document to improve his or her essay and writing skills. Peer Edit greatly enhances the efficiency and effectiveness of peer editing by eliminating the need for student editors to recall the specific rules of writing and use their own language when providing feedback.

The effectiveness of essay peer editing often suffers because student writers lack the proper language, skills, and training to accurately critique their classmates' papers. With Peer Edit, students simply click on check boxes for the errors they encounter in an essay and an accurately written feedback document is generated and e-mailed to the student writer.
