The player is the “ruler” of a western country during the 2000’s. President, prime minister, most influential person of the cabinet, powerful group of civil servants, or the state itself, whatever.
Big finance overrules you, economy is drove by speculation and maintained by indebt. Welcome to the globalization.
Your goal is to keep your chair has long as possible. Of course, elections happen from time to time. If you’re not completely hatred by your population, you will manage to stay in charge, providing you ensure the only thing that really matter… the support from the big finance.
And to get that, you must… FEED THE TRADERS!
Primary goals:
*** Manage to keep the finance sector support above alert level. 3 months below this
level and you’re out.
*** Manage to keep the population support above alert level during the elections.
Levels, from the easiest to the hardest:
*** US: To print money has very low impact on inflation. To borrow has low impact on
debt rate.
*** Germany. Can’t print money, but borrow at low rate. Large taxes raised.
*** UK: Borrow at low rates.
*** France: Can’t print money. Cut public service cause a big drop in public support. Tax the riches rally the public more.
*** Italy: Borrow at big rates. Can’t print money.
*** Greece: Borrow at furious rates. Can’t print money.
