Graphical bug fixes for the user interface.

App Description

In a nutshell: RN Careboard is a tablet version of what RN’s typically call a “brain” (or a “flow sheet” or "my scribbled notes") - only much better!

RN Careboard is a tool for floor based nurses who care for multiple patients. The app chronologically organizes entries and provides a well organized summary. In addition it helps nurses in prioritizing and managing information that many times becomes increasingly complex over the course of a shift. At the end of shift during handoff report, RN Careboard serves to help highlight important information and quickly relay the complete care story.

Ten major organizational screens:

-Basic info
-Vitals
-Monitors & Oxygen
-Wounds & Dressings
-Lines, Tubes & Drains
-Intake & Output
-Glucose Checks
-Events & Notes
-Labs
-Summary (with print & email options)

The summary screen shows all information entered for a patient, including a checkbox and highlight option to help organize information. The summary may be printed or emailed in PDF form.

For time management the app has a reminders feature. You can view and adjust reminders for a single patient or see all reminders for all patients combined on one screen. (No annoying beeps or system notifications with these reminders, just a calm flashing indicator.)

The app has a capacity of up to 50 patients. (Most nurses will use far less, the higher capacity is for nurses in speciality roles such as supervisors, charge nurses and clinical instructors.)

Other minor features include:
-A calculator
-A scratch pad area for miscellaneous notes that don’t apply to any particular patient. (ie TV channels, unit phone numbers, anything that is important to you but is hard to remember)
-A clock that displays military time and graphically ticks off in 15 second increments (helpful for taking vitals)
-An emergency number line that is customizable.
-A cover screen to protect patient information from straying eyes
-A “night glow” feature for those night nurses who could use just a little bit of light for a short time (you know who you are!)
-The ability to delete either an individual patient’s information or the option to delete information for all patients.

Please note: This application’s patient data should ALWAYS be cleared prior to leaving your unit at the end of your shift. In addition you are strongly encouraged to enable your device’s passcode feature when using this application. (Found in settings under the general option.)

This is a real tool for nurses designed and programmed by a nurse. Please let me know your thoughts and wishes for future versions.
