Julian Day Calc is a very advanced yet simple app for calculating the both the Julian day ( day of year) and also the Julian date, a 64 bit floating point number.

This application converts between Julian / Gregorian and Gregorian/Julian, so you can go back and forth with both date conversions. You can also email your results!

On the main screen, simply use the date picker to select your date. With every selected date, you will see the Julian Day, the Julian Date and also if the year is a leap year or not!

Our second page of Julian Day Calc allows you to enter a Julian day and it will tell you the Month and day! We also added a year text box so you can change the year to get different dates returned.

Julian dates are simply a continuous count of days and fractions since noon Universal Time on January 1, 4713 BCE (on the Julian calendar). Almost 2.5 million days have transpired since this date. Julian dates are widely used as time variables within astronomical software.
