App Description

Pillar is a messaging service / social network that helps families within school communities connect, communicate, and get to know each other better.

There are four core features in Pillar App:

1. Organized school directory - to make it easy to find specific family when you need to get in touch.

2. Family profiles - see a family photo for matching names with faces and relevant info about the family (e.g. what after-school activities do the kids do? what are the kids summer camp plans?)

3. Messaging - simple replacement for SMS but with family identity e.g. "new message from Ashley, Jack Alexander's mom (2nd grade)"

4. Conversations - similar to slack '#channels' to enable discoverable, opt-in discussion that doesn't feel appropriate for group SMS or email (childcare, summer playdates, school-specific-stuff...)
