App Description
Halos enables all US citizens to view the approximate location* of Halos members who are legally permitted to carry a concealed handgun and elect to help protect their community by showing their approximate location.
Halos believes in safety in armed numbers. The more members who join Halos, the more the good guys light up the map and the better we protect our communities both by informing citizens of what areas may be safer than others and by deterring crime.
Those who carry handguns may choose to join Halos as a participating member and have their approximate location shared with the community. Those who do not carry may join Halos as observing members who do not appear on the map. Each participating member's specific location is obscured (without revealing either identity or exact location). Halos seeks to provide the assurance that there are armed good guys in your vicinity without disclosing their identity or precise whereabouts.
*Continued use of GPS may dramatically decrease battery life.
