App Description

Essentially JIGSAW is a tool to track how much time you spend as a family doing positive and fun activities together.

There is a wealth of research that shows spending time as a family and taking part in a variety of activities together has a great deal of benefit.

Engaging in different activities is crucial for the development of strong, supportive family units and developing children's positive skills, traits and talents.

Activities and social interactions help children to become well-rounded individuals developing their concept of healthy lifestyles, friendship and social skills. Moreover, developmental areas such as fine and gross motor skills, listening skills, behavioural skills and academic skills can all be developed and enhanced by taking part in such activities.

Spending time as a family gives the opportunity to learn about each other, support and encourage each other and enjoy this time to have fun together.

It is important to remember that JIGSAW is not about spending lots of money.

JIGSAW is not about the 'big ticket' activities; indeed some of the best activities are things like spending time reading a story before bed with your children; going for walks or a cycle together; cooking together and other arts and crafts activities

There are hundreds of activities that can be done together that are either free or can be done at little cost. Spending quality time together is the important factor.

The internet has a wealth of ideas for fun art, craft, cooking and other activities. Your local newspaper will have listings of activities and events that are happening in your area.

We understand that often time is limited due to work and other life factors, but making the time to engage in some positive activities as a family is priceless.

This app gives you a wealth of ideas of different things to do. It tracks the time that you are spending on such activities so you can keep a check on what you are doing and it gives you the opportunity to peer review and share activities that you have enjoyed so others can perhaps try them themselves.

It is quite likely that you are already running around taking your kids to a variety of out-of-school activities, why not record these using the app and see how much positive, quality time you are already spending?

JIGSAW has been developed through a collaboration with experienced Educational professionals, Behaviour specialists and most importantly parents.
