With Watch OS 2.0, the app runs on your Apple Watch independent of your iPhone.
No more digging out your iPhone to calculate your tip.
Just enter the amount of the meal and the app will calculate the amount of tip to add and your total bill.
Make sure you choose to install the app to the Watch.
