More Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space, Episode 5

Posted by Kevin Stout on April 24th, 2012

Feeling a bit of deja vu? That’s because it was less than a week ago that Jennifer Allen posted that Telltale Games had released episode four of its Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space series, Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space Ep 4. Now the fifth installment of the popular series has been released, Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space Ep 5. These guys are just rapid-firing releasing games about Sam and Max.

This episode is hot and dangerous because Sam and Max are dealing with none other than Hell and Satan himself. The dynamic duo try to bargain for Bosco’s soul and try to escape from the corporate wasteland known as Hell.

The game, of course, features popular mini-game “Whack da Ratz” where users can compete for top scores in the Freelance Police Hall of Fame.

Like previous installments, this game is on the App Store for $4.99. Telltale Games is also the popular developer behind the Back to the Future and Jurassic Park iOS game series.

Telltale Games Releases Sam & Max: Beyond Time And Space Episode Four

+ Universal App - Designed for iPhone and iPad

Telltale Games sure does like to keep busy. Less than 3 months after releasing Episode One of Sam & Max: Beyond Time And Space, we're up to Episode Four: Chariots of the Dogs.

New to iOS, Chariots of the Dogs is one of my favorite Sam & Max tales in recent times. Bosco has vanished from the face of the Earth and it's down to Sam & Max to track him down and figure out the many other puzzles that get in their way. It's truly one of the funniest episodes of the season. Do make sure to play earlier episodes to get all the jokes, though.

As has been the case with previous episodes, there's a mini-game in the form of Whack da Ratz and an entertaining soundboard that lets players create new quotes from the episode.

Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space Ep 4 is out now, priced at $4.99. It's an Universal app so owners of both iPhone and iPad can rejoice.

Sam & Max is making an appearance on the iPad in this Telltale debut title. This title is Episode one of the The Devil's Playhouse, which has celebrated a lot of success in other platforms. The enhanced graphics and expanded real estate makes this game a perfect marriage to the iPad.

“Sam & Max just feels right on iPad," said Kevin Bruner, CTO, Telltale Games. "The gameplay experience is incredibly intimate and tactile. Playing the game on iPad truly feels different to anything else.”

Additional features have been implemented in order to more effectively utilize the iPad's enhanced touch features. This five episode series has the potential to really shine on the iPad. Check it out for the iPad at $9.99.
