5 mobile strategy games to try when you can't play Civilization VI
Strategy enthusiasts everywhere are celebrating the release of Civilization VI this week, and so far everyone seems pretty satisfied with the first full release in the series since 2010. The series has always been about ultra-addictive gameplay that has you begging for just one more turn.
Sadly, though, real life is bound to interrupt, and we might at some point have to venture away from our computers or, even worse, outside. There's a compromise, though. There are actually a few excellent games quite similar to Civilization in terms of both thematics and gameplay. Here are a few fine examples.

Indie Classic King of Dragon Pass Goes on Sale to Celebrate its 15th Anniversary
King of Dragon Pass, by A Sharp, was first released 15 years ago in 1999 for Windows and Mac. In March of 2000 the game won the "Best Visual Art" at the second Independent Games Festival, and in 2012 it was released for iOS.
In celebration of an amazing 15 years of gaming, A Sharp is putting all versions of the game on sale for 50% off for 5 days, beginning today.
The A Sharp team also reports that they are working on a spiritual successor to King of Dragon Pass, set in the same world. It won't be released for at least another year, but it already has a working title: Six Ages.
While you wait for Six Ages, you can check out King of Dragon Pass while it's still on sale.
King of Dragon Pass is on Sale and has a New Update
King of Dragon Pass, the rich storytelling game by A Sharp is going on sale June 24 to celebrate their new update. The next iteration of the game will include 15 new scenes and a new character’s multi-year saga, as well as integrating player ideas in two events - one of which was an entry that won A Sharp's scene contest. In the contest players submitted a situation, including art guidelines, and 3-5 responses.
They have also added an option to enlarge text, fixed some bugs, and improved the voice-overs, making this update not only full of new content, but improving the old content as well. The Game will be 20% off for a limited time starting today and the update will be free.
