The Latterly app is an extension of the magazine’s emphasis on reader experience. Because Latterly is funded entirely by its subscribers, the interface is clean and unobstructed by ads. When you subscribe to Latterly, you are directly funding the magazine’s reporting and photography from all around the globe.
Subscriptions are auto-renewing and can be canceled from your iTunes profile. All payments and refunds are managed by Apple through iTunes.
Latterly publishes 12 issues per year with four works of longform journalism in each issue. Subscriptions are $2.99 per month or $7.99 if you choose to be billed quarterly. Nearly 100 percent of the magazine’s revenue goes directly to our freelance journalists around the world.
We believe international journalism is often unrelatable to readers thousands of miles away. Distance and cultural differences make it difficult to empathize with the subjects of news. Moreover, shrinking newsroom budgets are limiting the breadth of issues covered by the mainstream media, which tends to follow trending news.
