Don't like to see reviews? Turn off the Rotten Tomatoes score and review summary in the Settings app.

Movies displayed for a theater are now alphabetized.

Theaters now display in the correct order between launches (yay!).

Rotten Tomatoes data is now reliably shown for more movies.

All movie details are now shown for theaters in locations with spaces in the name.

In some situations, Showings would wait for up to 90 seconds to get a location from the phone's GPS. Now it will only wait up to 30 seconds.

Day picker is now displayed when resuming the app after having paused it on the search panel.

The animation into movie details now works in iOS5. Made it a little faster, too.

Fixed an error that could occur when fetching details for movies with YouTube trailers.

Fixed an issue where movie details would look weird because of extra spaces.

Showings now works a bit better with eastern alphabets, although western alphabets still work more reliably.

Showings is designed around how most folks go to the movies. If you’re like me, you have a few favorite theaters you go to 99% of the time—if a cool movie you want to see misses those theaters then, well, it’ll show up on Netflix eventually. If that sounds familiar then I think you’ll dig Showings.

Getting started is easy: find nearby theaters and favorite the ones you go to. Next time you need it just flip through your theaters like the Weather app. Can’t put your finger on a movie just by the title? Tap on it for the poster, cast, summary, Rotten Tomatoes score, and a trailer.

Unlike other movie apps, Showings is laser focused on presenting movie times simply, quickly, and beautifully. It doesn’t let you buy movie tickets or post witty comments about a movie to Facebook or find out which movies opened big in Idaho. Not yet, anyway—hang in there, Idaho.
