Words can not do justice to just how incredible Voruna Prime is

Fun fact: I have always been a fan of Warframe, but recently I have been on a huge Warframe kick. I have been grinding Mastery, and recently switched my main to Wukong Prime; I am sorry, Ash. This is a loyalty that might be tested again, as the thematically magnificent Voruna Prime has launched.

Voruna is styled as the Wolven Queen, with her wolfpack being four floating heads, which is incredibly cool. Especially when combined with the gold Prime trim. Plus, amazing backstory. Voruna was once a warden at the holiest temple on Lua, and during the collapse of the Orokin Empire, she hijacked a ritual to fuse with these severed wolf heads.

It just gets more metal from there. I thought that Digital Extremes had topped themselves with the recent Follie trailer, but wow. Voruna Prime's trailer is set in Höllvania from 1999, which was already a heavy location. Then add the music and the actual visceral ripping and tearing Voruna does; just superb.

Happily, Vorunas's moveset is also fantastic. She can turn invisible and gain speed, coming out of the cloak with increased melee Crit Damage, Chance, and Status Chance. Fangs of Raksh inflicts 10 Stacks of 5 random Status Effects on the target, which transfer to another enemy upon death. Lycath’s Hunt causes health orbs to drop on melee kills to sustain you, and then, finally, Ulfrun's Descent unleashes the wolf within, dropping you onto all fours, locking on to foes for five brutal strikes, and seeing you lunge to them in a festival of carnage.

This is a masterpiece of a skillset.

It doesn’t stop there either, with the Perigale Prime long-range rifle and Sarofang Prime axe also releasing. Why a wolf needs a rifle, I don’t know, but it's cool. Finally, you can fight in style thanks to the Okuri Tails Prime Ephemera, the Haunteler Prime Syndana backpiece, and the Vilkas Prime Sumdali ship adornment, all included in the Prime pack in the market.

You can also unlock Voruna Prime and her weapons for free, as always, by collecting the blueprints and components. Finally, head to Nightwave to pick up more treasures with Nora’s Mix: Time Tempests. Here you can complete missions and earn rewards such as the Stelflare Syndana, Naimore Armour Bundle, and the Tealtrian Ephemera aura. Follie might have been well and truly shown up already.

Warframe is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
