Warframe’s latest devstream taunts us with bits of the upcoming Tau expansion

We are mere weeks from the promised land, and I will not stand for Digital Extremes teasing us!

One month left, friends. Just one more month until we reach the promised lands in Warframe. Tau is within reach, and Digital Extremes have been rudely taunting us in their latest Devstream by dangling information in front of us. Yes, it is their job, but I am still bad at them.

We will be able to see the decayed husk of Tau, far from the beautiful land we saw in The Old Peace. The city of Fornax is the epitome of this, run by an old friend who has certainly seen different days. There are two distinct locations to explore, as well as Manifold 90-BF, the new social hub. You can also befriend The Cleaving Glaive, a new Syndicate that is scraping what is left of this solar system for secrets of what it once was.

Oddly, the thing I am not looking forward to most is not the story, which might be sacrilegious. Instead, it is the 67th Warframe, Brysko. Voiced by Matthew Mercer, for better or worse, Brysko is a Noir-inspired gambler with an Exalted magnum called Corecracker and his own hound companion. What more could you want?

Continuing the gambling vibes, Warframe is releasing its own card game called Portau. And yes, it is not on mobile; it is a physical product, so we are only quickly glossing over it. There's a playmat, and then the box set with the cards, a box, and a charm. Pre-orders are open now. Moving on!

And we move on to the true endgame of any game: fashion! Koumei is getting her own Deluxe Skin with Koumei Enshoujo. She looks pretty spooky if you check out the Devstream, and personally I prefer the original skin, but if you still want to celebrate Halloween, check it out.

We also got a glimpse of the next Heirloom Skin for Nezha coming in 2027. Not a Warframe that I have much experience with, but nice for fans. I will say, however, that the design looks quite similar to Mesa’s Heirloom, which is a little disappointing. But hey, if you like red and black colours, you are in.

Warframe is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
