Warframe finally takes us to Tau as The Old Peace launches
They say war is hell. It definitely will be with Uriel running about.
It is an update that has been a decade in the making. The Old Peace is out now, and Warframe is taking us back to Tau, in a sense. I am itching to start ripping around that battlefield, so let’s dive right in so I can stop writing and start playing.
The Old Peace takes us back to a tentative alliance between Orokin and Sentients, as the Oparator relives their memories of a vicious war. You will work with your old friend, Adis, to uncover what happened on that planet in a truly emotional narrative.
You know what else an emotion is? Stress, and you will be feeling a lot of that in The Perita Rebellion. These battlefields will give you 12 minutes to win a war on your own, completing objectives and scything through foes, until you reach a climactic battle against one of three bosses. More objectives equal more buffs, so you can’t hang around.
To help you turn the tide of these battles, you can learn new ultimate abilities through the five Focus Schools. These Tauron Strikes are screen-filling ultra moves using five iconic weapons: Vexoric, the incisive blade, Cogron, the mighty hammer, Thara, the unwavering bow, Nidri, the righteous staff, and Lorak, the overpowering grimoire. Using these will let you get a nice look at your Operator, who, along with the Drifter, has had a nice glow-up in the Graphical Remaster.

After this war, start your march into hell itself in Desendia. You will fight through 21 floors, each twisted by various Penances. Reach floors 7 and 14, and you will meet members of The Devil’s Triad who offer a temporary Blessing. This mode resets each week, so keep coming back for more rewards.
Speaking of The Devil’s Triad, you will be able to bond with these three Protoframes in an expanded romance and relationship system, which results in Capture Dates. Or, take direct control of the devil itself, as Uriel, the 63rd Warframe, makes his debut.
You can equip him with the first hybrid weapon class, the Bayonet, that takes your Primary and Melee slots. Thankfully, you can edit each mod set separately still.
Should you yearn for something a little older, then why not go after the new Prime, Gyre? They come with the customary increased Health, Shield, and sprint speed, and debut with the Alternox Prime rifle, and Kestrel Prime throwing glaive, as well as the Galariak Prime scythe and Sagek Prime pistol.
Digital Extreme arn’t content to rest just yet, however, as there will be a new trailer for Warframe’s next narrative chapter dropping during The Game Awards 2025 tomorrow. So, no time to waste, download Warframe from the App Store on the double, soldier. We have a war to win.
