Echoes of Revolution will bring you closer to the revolutionary wars than ever before
Just try to resist the urge to Eagle Dive off tall buildings when you experience this
I have a deeply held belief that I have learnt far more useful information from games than I did in school. Isosceles triangles have never come up in conversation, for example, yet mythology has. Assassin's Creed was always a good example, taken with a grain of salt, of course.
That educational factor will soon be milked for all it is worth, as Ubisoft and Sugar Creative are teaming up to create Echoes of Revolution. These will be two large-scale immersive XR experiences taking place in New York City and Boston, to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. Finally, a reason to visit Boston after The Mighty Mighty Bosstones broke up.
The worlds of Assassin’s Creed III and Assassin’s Creed Rogue will be used to bring to life key moments of the American Revolution to your phones, as you wander around the two cities. Simply hold up your phone, and you will be able to see history unfold before your eyes. Just obviously, safety first, watch out for phone snatchers.

The New York experience has been developed in partnership with the Gotham Center for New York History. Boston, on the other hand, will be brought to life through a collaboration of Revolutionary Spaces and T-Mobile’s T-Innovate team, which is much less impressive-sounding than the Gotham Center. T-Mobile wishes it had links to Batman.
Echoes of Revolution will be powered by Niantic Spatial’s Visual Position System, because if you are doing any location experience, it has to be Niantic. Both of these experiences were made possible with backing from Creative Wales and Media Cymru, which is an interesting partner for this America-based activity, but sure.
That is a lot of different names coming together to make this a virtual reality, but I am just happy the power of games is being used for education. I do believe you can learn a lot from just playing, so I am excited for more information on Echoes of Revolution when it launches in 2026.
