Digimon Alysion is available to pre-register now with a free webcomic to get you started
As a fan of the physical card game, I have been looking forward to Alysion for a long time
Back when I was a youth, Digimon and Pokémon went toe-to-toe to determine who was best. Pokémon won by a landslide. Digimon is making a bit of a comeback recently, however, with Time Stranger being brilliant, and Digimon Up definitely not existing. Bandai is now taking to fight to TCGs, with Digimon Alysion opening its doors for pre-orders.
At least in 49 countries and regions, anyway, but still! The App Store is currently listing December 23rd as the release date, which would be exciting. However, this hasn’t been officially announced, so let’s not take that as gospel. All we know for sure is 2026. Could be tomorrow, could be November 19th. Take that, Rockstar.
But you may be saying to yourself, “What is Digimon Alysion? It is a terrible name”, which I would say, "That's correct." It sounds like a name they made up to be unique for Google. Name aside, Alysion is a game that takes place in the world of Digimon Liberator. This is a webcomic and light novel that you can read for free on the website to get ready.

In the game's Story Mode, you will take on the role of Kanata Hondo, a newcomer to the Digimon Card Game. Her friend, Futre, is showing her the ropes and teaching both Kanata and the player the ways of the card game. Bandai is aiming to provide an even field where you can succeed with multiple strategies, but we know a meta will emerge. With Gabumon.
The developers also seem to be aiming for ranked matches and tournaments in the future, which would be quite fun. Plus, Alysion will feature voice acting, a feat that Pokémon has struggled with for years. Will Digimon finally topple Pokémon? Of course not, but it is always great to see more from this wonderful franchise.
You can pre-register Digimon Alysion on the App Store and Google Play.
