Considering that my feet are turning into icicles indoors, I have no idea what lunatic is still venturing outside in this temperature. The Pokémon Company is encouraging this erratic behaviour, with Pokémon GO's upcoming season launching on December 2nd. Precious Paths will be debuting new League battles, massive cats, and a scrappy little octopus.

Those fashion-forward folk will be happy to hear that two Pokémon will receive a holiday-themed outfit. Sudowoodo will be decked out like a Christmas tree, of course, and Charjabug will be wrapped in a bow, the perfect present for Misty.

We shall also be welcoming a few friends in their Pokémon Go Debut.

The likes of Grapploct and Clobbopus will be showing up this season, and as a side note, I love how they evolve in the main series. Clobbopus needs to know Taunt, and that just tickles me, the thought of Grapploct shouting “come here” and clobbering someone with four tentacles.

On the subject of humour, Gigantamax Meowth will be popping up in Max Battles. You know, that Meowth that the developers ran over with a steamroller to make ridiculously long, and thought that was enough. You can also look forward to tackling Dynamax Hitmonlee and Dynamax Hitmonchan as well.

In terms of hatching; Cleffa, Audino, and Beldum will be added as our little Christmas miracles. You can also get Tinkatink in the 10km, who is fast becoming one of my favourite evolution lines. Tinkaton is the greatest recent Pokémon. You can take the little pink devil into the GO Battle League, in “themed” competitions like the Holiday Cup, Sunshine Cup, and Love Cup. Only one of them is holiday-themed. Come on, Pokémon Company.

As we all know, the most valuable thing in the Pokémon universe is Eevee, they are adorable and must be cherished. The second most valuable is the Master Ball, the Poké Ball that will capture anyone you throw it at. Happily, one will be available through a paid Special Research, in case there's one elusive beastie you are determined to befriend.

The problem I see here is the fact that I miss maybe five Poke Balls for one that actually hits the target. It is very annoying when you accidentally use it in the main series. Can you imagine just whiffing the Master Ball on Pokémon Go because you dropped your phone on your face? Sadly, selecting the Master Ball is an auto-catch in Go; it would be funnier if it weren’t.

Pokémon GO can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play, with the full breakdown on Precious Paths available to check on the website.
